While you're waiting

I have not had many posts in AdvisorBits recently, and its not because I've been slacking off either. This time of year always has me busy in the yard preparing for my annual Garden Party. And this year, I'm working on a web project with my old friends Guy R Leo and Jesse Gardner that could turn out quite nicely.

I'm also preparing for something a little different this year.

I'm having a show at a local art gallery. As a part of that project I am fooling around a little with the Typo blogging platform which runs on Ruby on Rails. The name of the blog is called Mr Tanner's Notebook, and the subtitle changes with my whim. I have one [new] large burgundy JSW4.NET button down collar shirt left that I will mail to the first person who correctly identifies the [obtuse & possibly mangled] reference in the title.

The Park Row Gallery web site, which I developed, will have the details of the dates in their press release. I hate to scoop them, but it seems relevant so here you go: July 1st through 30th; Monday, Tuesday Through Saturday and by appointment. The opening reception will be on Saturday, July 7th in the evening.

Hopefully, as a part of that show, I'm also trying to get together a project to raise some money for charity. As a part of that project I need to pick the ten favorite photographs from my photoblog. Please send me your favorite ten photos, and I will post a list of them here. I've been putting off mentioning this, but I think the photoblog is dead. I'm almost half a year behind, and having the camera die is such a natural point to end a project like that ... plus its a lot of work to take enough photos to post one every single day, especially when there's little feedback on the web site.

I will be doing something else ... some time in the future ... with my photography on the web. I am really enamored of what Dean does at Daily Oliver and the participatory nature of the captioning there. Maybe if enough of you send me your suggestions for the top ten photos from my old photoblog, I will rewrite that site in RoR, which is something kicking around in the back of my mind.

When I get a minute.
